You wouldn’t hurt these little helpless balls of fur would you? I thought so, yet sadly some people would. These people that abuse and harm animals need to be stopped. I’m sure you wouldn’t let your neighbor’s abuse their animals so why let anyone else abuse an animal. The animal abusers are hiding in the shadows need to be stopped. We need to act on this, because if we help animals now they might be able to help us in the future.
There are two types of pet abuse, Active cruelty (Acts of Commission), and Passive Cruelty (Acts of Commission). Acts of Omission where a pet owner knows there is a problem with the animal, but does nothing to care for the animal. This is a type of neglect. Acts of Commission is when a pet owner deliberately brings harm to an animal. It is sad and tragic, but crimes like these are committed every day. Yet nobody comes forth to stop these people that committing these crimes (animalcruelty.com).
These forms of animal abuse are committed by people every day around the globe. There are many forms of animal abuse that you may have heard of or may not have heard of. These are some types of you may not have heard of but are none the less as serious as any other. The biggest types of animal abuse are: Animal Fighting, where animals, fight each other in a brutal blood sport, most often to the death. Badger baiting, and Hog Dog fighting. Where dogs fight against wild boars, and dogs fight badgers. Another way of abusing animals, are animal crush videos. This is where women squish small animals to the death, for the sexual gratification of men. This is completely, sickening. Another form of animal abuse is bestiality. This is when people engage in sexual intercourse with animals. These are just a portion, of what most people have heard of, and it gets worse (animalcruelty.com).
As it gets worse, you began to hear about other types of animal abuse which can be more common than others. Here are some types of animal abuse that you may have heard of. Animal hoarding, is when a pet owner, continuously collects animals, amouting to a sum of great numbers. There are some cases in which people have gathered over 40 animals, and could not properly care for all of them. This leads to severe diseases to all of the animals. Another is shooting, and poisoning. These cases are most commonly expected to happen with pet owners who allow their animals to roam the streets. They can get into things, garbage’s, or dumpsters which may contain harmful substances. Then they can trespass and some sick twisted person might shoot them. This should not happen to anyone, or any animal.
As you can see these things happen every day, but who is trying to stop them. Most places where it happens is in pet stores. Pet stores abuse animals, to low health situations. Then they sell these animals to people, at high prices. All the while keeping them in small overcrowded, cages and tanks. Actually another reason for these animals to be sickly, is because, of the lack of training inside of pet stores, by the managers of the stores(petstoreabuse.com). A small group of aspca agents, across 5o states, just isn’t enough. I’m sure you wouldn’t let your neighbor do this to an animal, so why let anyone else. Please if you don’t help these animals, who else will.

Carl Sharif Analysis
Dear Carl Sharif,
Author Carl Sharif a local Newark writer of the Local Talk Weekly, posted an excellent editorial about Downtown Newark. He gave many details as to how it is changing. He says "Anticipation that these new dwelling places will be extraordinarily attractive for current New York residents who crave the Big Apple but not its high cost of living space." When Carl Sharif says this he means that the leaders of Newark are trying to make the downtown area more appealing to outsiders. I feel that is true. So to this i totally agree. When you walk along Broad and Market streets you can see a change taking place. There are more policemen walking through the streets of downtown newark. The streets are even cleaner then anyone has ever seen. There are many hotels, apartments, condos, being nuilt up out of old buildings. They are doing all of this for other people, who are taken away jobs and valuable living space for many local Newarkians. When Carl Sharif wrote this,he really changed my views. I felt that what he talked about was phenominal. He gives you the real facts. That the goverment of newark New Jersey only cares about there financial situation. So it is true they do not care avout there ever loving citizens. Thank you Carl Sharif.
